We Are Three – The Power of Collaboration

Have you heard the expression 1 + 1 = 3?  When we combine energy, forces create something even larger and better than the expected two.  In a world of divisiveness and competition, Project Sanctuary and Save A Warrior are proving that collaboration not only brings out the best in each of our programs, but it creates a new force, a new level in healing, hope and saving lives.

In August of 2022, Project Sanctuary and Save a Warrior, two like-minded but very different nonprofits, combined forces to host the first dedicated family retreat together.  And although we all knew it would be good, I don’t think we realized just how impactful and downright miraculous it would actually be!

Project Sanctuary + Save A Warrior = Life changing!
SAW built a foundation that no matter what life throws at you, you will always know how to come back to love and peace. Project Sanctuary did the exact same thing with the added family initiation. Every single volunteer gave whole heartedly from a place love. Classes were taught with real life wisdom only found from those who have traveled the same journey. I am grateful for the amazing work Project Sanctuary is doing and now have hope that strong bonds won’t break, and my family will be closer moving forward. Thank you to all of the volunteers who poured their heart into serving our SAW families at Retreat #264. ~ Ryan Aug 2022

Our thanks and gratitude first and always to our military families who so bravely step up, show up and work during our programs, not only to better themselves, but to better their families.  Thank you to the vision and tenacity of Save a Warrior’s founder and leadership to be able to be open and operate in a noncompetitive space. And thank you to the Project Sanctuary team, volunteers and all the donors that support each program!

Being a veteran or first responder often comes with the belief that “no one can understand”.  We get that.  And other organizations get that too.  By lowering our defenses, reaching out and working together, shifts and life changes will happen.  Just trust that 1 + 1 really does equal 3.

For more information:

  • Rocky Mountain PBS chose Project Sanctuary and this retreat for a feature video and article to spread awareness about the work we do with military/veteran families.  Click here to read the full article on PBS  and the video can be found here: https://projectsanctuary.us/project-sanctuary-media/
  • Believing that military families serve together, and they should heal together, Project Sanctuary has become the authority in providing therapeutic retreats and delivering critical support our families need and deserve.  The result? Generational transformations in military families.

  • Save A Warrior is the original, Warrior-led, timeless heroic journey for active duty military, returning veterans and first responders who feel desperately alone. They offer an alternative holistic service that equips veterans, military personnel, police, firefighters and other first responders with a community of support and effective techniques to overcome the symptoms and addictions associated with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress.
