Granby, CO – Project Sanctuary is honored to announce the appointment of four new members to the Board of Directors to help support the nonprofit’s work changing the way military families heal and move forward in life. This brings their board member total to fourteen.
“We’re excited to expand our board with four new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work,” said Project Sanctuary Founder and CEO Heather Ehle. “We have worked diligently to ensure Project Sanctuary’s board and leadership represents a variety of passionate experts willing and honored to serve our military families.
The new board members began their term with Project Sanctuary effective May 2022. The four new board members are:
Mari Akers - Consultant – Organizational Development and Engagement


Mari Akers has enjoyed an extensive career in Human Resources. She has been employed on the executive level for large public Real Estate companies in corporate America. Currently, Mari has transitioned to a consulting career and is a Consultant to the Chairman of UDR, Inc. in Organizational Development and Engagement. Her professional career includes SVP Human Resources roles with UDR, Inc., Prologis, and AIMCO. Mari currently serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver. She holds a BS in Psychology and completed post graduate work for an MA Education and MA Counseling at Arizona State University. She also completed the Certificate in Leadership for Women. Mari understands first-hand the sacrifices that our military families must make as her father, a Green Beret, served three tours in Vietnam and one to Iraq. Mari’s brother also served as a Green Beret.
Odetta Delsol - M.P.A. Marine Corps Spouse/Sr. Human Resources Generalist, Seaport Global LLC


Proud Marine Corps spouse of over 12 years, Odetta has always been involved in empowering and uplifting military families. She has worked with fellow non-profit MSCCN/CASY in assisting military spouses and veterans with getting hired in addition to working on various Marine Corps installations in support of military families.
Jodi Eppler – CTP. Army Veteran


Jodi is a Director in Chatham’s Corporate sector, leading the relationship management team for clients and prospects in the western US, Canada, and Mexico. Jodi brings nearly 18 years of experience advising Chatham clients on optimal solutions for interest rate, currency, and commodity risk management, including hedging strategies, valuations, and accounting. Prior to Chatham, Jodi spent 8 years as a Chinook pilot in the Army and happens to be married to a retired Apache pilot “As both a servicemember and as a military spouse, I’ve experienced firsthand the need for an organization like Project Sanctuary. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors, supporting the staff in their ongoing mission of supporting our troops by supporting the entire military family.”
Jeff Kerneen, CPA. Consulting and Accounting Engagement Director. Navy Veteran


Jeff brings over thirty years of executive and financial management experience with a proven track record of leadership, operational improvements, and cost savings. He has broad experience in accounting and finance with a mix of both public and private accounting. His expertise in corporate operations, information technology, human resources, and marketing will be a great asset to the Project Sanctuary Board and financial oversight.
