PROJECT SANCTUARY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Granby, CO – Project Sanctuary, the leader in transforming how military families heal, announces the appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors. This brings their board member total to 14.
“We’re excited to grow our board with two individuals who are leaders in their fields, share a strong commitment to military families and will bring diverse insight to advancing our mission,” said Project Sanctuary Founder and CEO Heather Ehle. “We strive to ensure Project Sanctuary’s board and leadership represents a variety of experts willing and honored to help our military families heal and grow.”
New Project Sanctuary board members beginning their term effective January 2023:


William Spangenthal (Maj. Gen., USAF, Ret.), Vice President Business Strategy,
Small Business Consulting Corporation (SBCC)
Bill Spangenthal provides strategic guidance and mentoring to small business, startups, and entrepreneurs in support of the nation’s most critical defense missions. Previously, he served over 29-years in the United States Air Force (USAF), retiring as a Major General while serving as the Deputy Commander, Air Education and Training Command. In this position, he spearheaded the USAF’s second-largest command responsible for the recruiting, training, and education of all Air Force and Space Force personnel. He led the world’s largest training organization (initial skills, undergraduate flying, and combat crew training) and executed the planning and programming of a $7.6 billion annual budget.
Bill’s experience also includes various strategy, operations, and warfighting requirements positions within Air Education and Training Command, Air Mobility Command, U.S Central Command and the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. He is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours in various mobility aircraft and numerous combat theaters. A graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research, Bill received his Master’s degree in Organization Management from The George Washington University and a Master’s degree in Airpower Art and Science from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies.

She regularly volunteers to help veterans transition to civilian careers and assists employers who seek to hire military talent. She’s authored five books, three of which focus on military transition and reintegration. Her popular TEDx Talk highlights challenges and opportunities facing military veterans and the civilians who want to empower them. Lida is a well-known international trainer and speaker, and instructor of multiple courses on LinkedIn Learning. A graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, California, she received her training in Executive Presence and Influence from Wharton.
