DENVER, CO – November 15, 2019 – Twelve hours of outreach, interviews with veterans, plus rock & roll is the formula for success as 99.5 The Mountain (KQMT-FM), gathered over $24,000 in donations to benefit Colorado veteran’s organization, Project Sanctuary.
The half-day marathon – hosted by BMW of Denver Downtown – asked Mountain listeners, and all Denverites, to aid in efforts of support by featuring stories of healing and rebuilding from staff, veterans, and families personally touched by Project Sanctuary. The nonprofit organization, founded in 2007 by Heather Ehle, combines counseling, education, self-development and recreational therapy to change how military families heal. Project Sanctuary helps hundreds of families every year through therapeutic retreats across the country and a comprehensive family support program
Exceeding its 2018 total, the funds raised by the radiothon will directly impact veterans and their families – providing basic needs like groceries, and gas cards to aid in transportation; as well as assisting families to attend the six-day therapeutic retreat. The Project Sanctuary radiothon was aided by sponsors like Black Eyed Pea and Safeway, which provided the fuel for the efforts of on-air talent, staff and volunteers from sunup to sundown. While partners such as entertainment powerhouse AEG Presents – Rocky Mountains, Comedy Works, The Curtis Denver, Bill Sports Collectibles and Mac Outlet donated items to ease and increase our community’s charitable contributions.
Thanks to 99.5 The Mountain listeners – and host location BMW of Denver – Project Sanctuary will continue its mission to serve our veterans and their families. With over $24,000 in donations raised, the charity can provide military families the opportunity to reconnect and rebuild, at home and in the community.
