Holiday Giving

Essential, Now More Than Ever

"This will not only save relationships, marriages, or families but ultimately save lives. I have battled depression and anxiety for so long I, myself, could be all of the above."

BEGINNING THEIR HEALING AT A THERAPEUTIC RETREAT

What were you experiencing that made you decide to sign up for Project Sanctuary?
“We were having communication issues and also still dealing with depression, trust issues post suicide attempt.”
As a result of the retreat, how are you better as a family?
“The PTS Growth helped me with age appropriate dialogue with our daughter. It was nice to have a place where our teenage daughter could share, post questions and feel the sense of community with other military children.”
Why is this program needed and important?
“Absolutely needed! Especially now in COVID, being around like-minded people is a blessing.”

VETERAN FAMILY RETREAT #211,
SEPTEMBER 11-16, 2020

A Climate Change Concept Image

COVID HAS AMPLIFIED THESE CHALLENGES FOR BOTH ACTIVE DUTY AND VETERAN FAMILIES

Active duty families are experiencing travel restrictions, delayed moves, and quarantine requirements before and after deployments. Veterans and retired families are experiencing more isolation, anxiety and depression. All families are struggling to connect with in-person resources while navigating new communities after a PCS, homeschool and/or virtual learning for their kids.

Family Support provides year-round services when and where military families need it most:

• Emergency Financial Support
• Caregiver Support Groups
• Veteran Resource Navigation
• Destination Resource Weekends
121% increase in emergency financial support (over FY2019)

The benefits of Project Sanctuary are priceless for military families who dedicate(d) themselves to protecting our freedom. Our families need us even more as we navigate this pandemic.

“I am leaving behind the need to “fix” my husband/veteran. I now have tools to come up beside him and support & love him through it.
Military families face unique struggles no matter how long they have been out of service. This program gives them tools designed especially for us & support for years after as well – amazing, life-changing program.”
