Project Sanctuary retreats are open to all branches and to active duty or veteran families who believe that they would benefit from a therapeutic retreat.

Family – the people closest to you who offer support (usually your immediate family). Traditional families, single parents, and single veterans with a family member or friend are all welcome!

Though we have a waitlist at this time, we encourage families to apply. Because of deployments and family schedules, we sometimes go through 100 names to fill the ten spots available for each retreat. We take families in the order that they apply. Project Sanctuary will continue to host retreats until EVERY military family that wants a retreat gets one!

Please complete the following application in its entirety. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). You will be contacted by a Project Sanctuary staff member in approximately 72 hours, typically by email.

  • A $100 commitment fee via check is required to secure your families’ retreat date. The original uncashed check will be physically returned to you at your retreat. We are unable to confirm and hold your retreat spot until the commitment fee is received.

Please write: “Commitment Fee” in memo line and mail checks, money orders or cashier checks to: Project Sanctuary Commitment Fee PO Box 1563, Granby, CO 80446.

If you cancel less than 14 days before your retreat date, or are a no-show for your scheduled retreat, you will be ineligible for another retreat for two years, and your check will be cashed with the funds allocated toward program costs.

Communication is vital. If your schedule changes and you need to be rescheduled for a retreat, immediately email If you have questions, please email

  • Please note: Personal reference information will be collected once you are accepted into a retreat.
  • Pets or emotional support animals (ESA's) are NOT authorized at our retreat locations. Only service dogs that are task-trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are allowed. It is illegal in most states to pass off an untrained dog as a service dog. This issue is taken very seriously, and you will be asked to leave the retreat at your own cost if you bring any animal other than a task-trained service dog as defined by the ADA.

If you don’t see an email from us in 24 hours, please check your “spam” or “junk” folders. Adding to your address book might help, too.

Project Sanctuary is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation committed to helping military families reconnect through therapeutic retreat services. Please check “Yes” on the “Join the Project Sanctuary email list?” question on the form above to keep current with all of our opportunities and plans.  Also, be sure to contact us if your email or phone number changes.
